Accounting Assistant (Commercial Real Estate)

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Fully Remote/ Work from Home

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9-5 (EST)

Salary: MXN $30,000 Monthly

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing commercial real estate investment firm with a diverse portfolio of retail and industrial properties. The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manages accounting in-house.

This Accounting Assistant role supports the Controller and plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple properties. Ideal for someone detail-oriented who wants hands-on exposure to commercial real estate accounting.

Responsibilities

- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Assist with monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Assist with CAM reconciliations and tenant billings
- Maintain accurate records in property accounting software
- Support audit and tax documentation
- Collaborate with property and asset management teams

Requirements

- 2–4 years of accounting experience
- Commercial real estate experience preferred (property accounting, multifamily, or leasing backgrounds welcome)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Yardi (or similar property accounting software)
- Strong Excel skills
