SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand and supply planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, and purchase activities for 2 Business Units in Nidec. This role ensures the timely availability of materials and products, cost efficiency, and compliance with company standards and customer requirements.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- PlanningDevelop and implement demand and supply plans to meet business objectives.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast requirements to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Coordinate with production, customer service and sales teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.

- Warehouse ManagementOversee warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control and efficient material handling.
- Implement best practices for storage, safety, and space utilization.
- Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods, maintaining high service levels.

- PurchasingManage purchasing activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable supply sources.

- General
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
- Lead and develop the supply chain team to achieve operational excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, desirable APICS certified
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including planning (strong experience), warehouse, and purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain software, desirable Oracle.
- Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- English verbal and written proficiency
