Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Maintenance Manager to lead and transform the maintenance function for a high-volume plastic manufacturing operation serving the automotive industry. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for defining maintenance strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring equipment reliability across all production areas.

The successful candidate will operate as a department head, reporting directly to Plant Leadership and acting as a key member of the plant management team.

Key Responsibilities

- Full ownership of the Maintenance function for the plant, including preventive, predictive, corrective, and autonomous maintenance.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) systems aligned with automotive best practices.
- Lead and mature PTM / Planned Technical Maintenance strategies to reduce downtime, increase OEE, and extend asset life.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of plastic injection molding equipment, auxiliaries, robots, chillers, dryers, conveyors, and utilities.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including spare parts strategy, CAPEX justification, and cost optimization.
- Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance organization (mechanical, electrical, automation).
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode analysis, and structured problem-solving for recurring breakdowns.
- Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Industrial teams to support launches, process stability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, safety regulations, and internal audit requirements.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, downtime, maintenance cost) and report results to senior leadership.

Required Experience & Background

- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or Senior Maintenance Leader in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive industry background is mandatory (Tier-1 or Tier-2 preferred).
- Strong hands-on and leadership experience in plastic manufacturing, specifically:
- Plastic Injection Molding
- Auxiliary equipment and automation
- Demonstrated success implementing and sustaining TPM frameworks.
- Solid experience with PTM / Planned Maintenance systems.
- Experience leading teams in high-volume, high-pressure production environments.
- Track record of reducing downtime, improving OEE, and stabilizing production through maintenance excellence.

Education & Technical Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Injection molding machines and peripherals
- Electrical and mechanical systems
- Automation and controls (PLC exposure preferred)
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
