Wiring Harness Design Engineer (Automotive)

About the Role:

Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses for automotive applications. Create robust, cost-effective harness solutions that meet vehicle performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design 2D/3D wiring harness schematics and layouts using CAD tools
- Select connectors, terminals, cables, and protective components
- Ensure designs comply with automotive electrical standards and EMI/EMC requirements
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
- Create BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation
- Support prototype builds and troubleshoot harness issues

Requirements:

- Diploma/Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
- 2+ years in automotive wiring harness design
- Proficiency with harness design tools (Capital, CATIA, Zuken E3, or similar)
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, connectors, and components
- Understanding of wire sizing, fusing, and circuit protection principles

Good to Have:

- Experience with routing and packaging in CAD (NX, CATIA, Creo)
- Knowledge of automotive standards (LV214, ISO 6722)
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (crimping, molding, testing)
