Position Summary:

The Commodity Manager – Indirect Spend is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as professional services, IT, facilities, MRO, logistics, and marketing. This role drives cost savings, supplier performance, and process improvements while ensuring procurement aligns with business objectives, stakeholder needs and maintaining quality and service standards. The Commodity Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to drive value and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories.
- Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and spend analysis to identify opportunities.
- Lead RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and contract development.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align sourcing strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders, providing procurement insights and recommendations.
- Facilitate cross-functional sourcing teams and decision-making processes.
- Supplier Management
- Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular business reviews and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify and mitigate supplier risks related to quality, delivery, and financial stability.
- Cost Optimization & Value Creation
- Drive cost savings, total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements, and value-added initiatives.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate spend data and insights.
- Monitor and report on savings and performance metrics.
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and reporting.
- Support digital procurement initiatives and system enhancements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPSM preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management, with a focus on indirect spend.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Experience with ERP and e-sourcing tools (e.g., Oracle).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in a matrixed organization with global sourcing exposure.
- Familiarity with ESG, supplier diversity, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive change across functions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Language skills:
- English – required
- Spanish - required

Preferred Experience:

- Experience managing categories such as IT, HR services, marketing, MRO or facilities.
- Familiarity with contract law and supplier risk management.
- Global sourcing experience is a plus.
