Senior ADAS & Functional Safety Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior ADAS & Functional Safety Engineer with strong experience in automotive electronics and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to ISO 26262 Functional Safety lifecycle, system engineering, and safety analysis for automotive ECUs and ADAS features.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute Functional Safety activities across the product lifecycle in compliance with ISO 26262.
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) for ADAS and automotive systems.
- Define and manage Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC).
- Conduct safety analyses such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and DFA.
- Work closely with ADAS system, hardware, and software teams to ensure safety requirements implementation.
- Support ASIL decomposition, safety requirement allocation, and traceability.
- Review and approve safety work products including safety plans, safety cases, and confirmation measures.
- Interface with OEMs, suppliers, and third-party assessors for safety audits and assessments.
- Support integration, verification, and validation of ADAS features from a safety perspective.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive domain.
- Strong hands-on experience with ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
- Experience working on ADAS systems (Camera, Radar, Lidar, Sensor Fusion, ECU).
- Knowledge of ASIL (A–D) classification and safety lifecycle processes.
- Experience with safety analysis tools and methods (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA).
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
- Good understanding of vehicle E/E architecture.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to SOTIF (ISO 21448).
- Experience with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR (Classic or Adaptive).
- Functional Safety certification (TÜV or equivalent).
