Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Manager located in Guadalajara. Reporting to the Director, Materials, the Materials Manager role will be responsible for direct and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. What a typical day looks like:
- Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
- Manage, control, and direct the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
- Manage, control, and direct staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
- Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
- Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
- Manage controls and direct the actions for excess and obsoletes.
- Be in charge of accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
- Provide for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
- Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Be in charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
- Travel as required. The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS/MBA in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong background in materials planning and purchasing within electronics manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting NPI and sustaining operations, with direct people management responsibilities.
- Experience in automotive, telecom, industrial, or related electronics manufacturing projects.
- Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; experience with Kinaxis and Agile is highly desirable.
- Ability to interact and influence at executive levels, partnering closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
