Role Title: Senior Data Operations Analyst (Remote in MX)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire/Contract-to-Full Time
Duration: 3 months contract, then converts to Full Time
Preferred Location: Remote in Mexico
Role Description:
We are seeking a Senior DataOps Engineer to ensure the stability, quality, and timeliness of our Snowflake data platform. You will own monitoring, incident response, and operational support while automating manual tasks to improve reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Monitoring: Track ELT/ETL pipelines and dbt jobs; identify and address delays or failures proactively.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot SQL, Python, or ingestion issues and restore service quickly.
- Data Ingestion: Ensure timely, accurate data from multiple sources; validate quality metrics.
- User Support: Manage tickets (Jira/ServiceNow) for access, queries, and data issues.
- Automation: Build Python scripts to automate maintenance, alerts, and validations.
- CI/CD Deployment: Assist with smooth code/dbt releases and quick rollbacks.
- Root Cause Analysis: Document incidents and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements:
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Operational Experience: DataOps, SRE, or production support background.
- SQL: Strong skills for debugging and validating data issues.
- Python: Proficient in scripting and automation (3.10/3.11 preferred).
- Troubleshooting: Analytical mindset to trace errors across logs, code, and data lineage.
- Snowflake: Familiarity with virtual warehouses, history tables, and query profiles.
- Communication: Clear with technical teams and business users on issues.
- Agility: Adaptable in a lean team; quick to learn new observability tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- SnowPro Core certification.
- dbt experience (running/debugging models).
- Familiarity with data observability tools (Monte Carlo, Datadog, alerts).
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
