Job Title: NPDE Test Technician IV
Reporting To: NPDE Engineering Technician Coordinator
General Overview
The NPDE Test Technician IV plays a crucial role in supporting NPDE ICT/FCT Test Engineering, focusing on the development and execution of ICT/FCT test programs and the assembly of testing fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the functionality of test fixtures and programs, adhering to specified test durations and acceptance criteria to fulfill customer expectations.
- Document procedures meticulously and generate comprehensive reports.
Specific Duties
- Gather and procure necessary materials for New Product Introduction (NPI) runs, including fixtures, samples, and components.
- Perform all required modifications on test fixtures' wiring or additional circuitry.
- Assist in NPI runs: ICT, flying probe, offline programming, or functional bench/tester validations.
- Create and troubleshoot Flying Probe programs, providing detailed failure information to repair technicians as needed.
- Assess current test coverage and strive to enhance it.
- Conduct verification and reporting of ESD and strain gauge assessments applied to ICT/FCT fixtures.
- Monitor NPI run yield performance, analyzing failures from current and past runs.
- Compile weekly reports of hours worked, categorized by specific cost centers.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Strong understanding of electronics concepts with the ability to interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with text-based programming languages and Unix/Linux operating system commands.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, capable of professional correspondence with suppliers.
- Preferred experience with Flying Prober testers.
- Desired familiarity with the ARIBA procurement platform.
- Knowledge of XJTAG hardware and software is advantageous.
- Experience in programming with LabView, Test Stand, Lab Window CVI, C, or similar languages is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing plant shipping and receiving processes is beneficial.
- A technical degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction (50%): Execute all necessary preparation activities to support NPI runs, including adjustments to fixtures or test programs, modifications to testers, and software corrections. Participate in NPI meetings to receive schedules and communicate any issues.
- Continuous Improvement (25%): Monitor NPIP run performance (yield, test time, and test coverage). Identify potential improvement opportunities in ICT/FCT processes. Document all verification activities on fixtures and create reports.
- Equipment Assembly and Procurement (25%): Make adjustments to equipment for production floor integration. Manage the procurement of equipment, parts, and services. Organize and maintain an inventory of spare parts and accessories.
