**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Shop/Maintenance team as a Transportation Shop Administrator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the shop area, warehouse, and repair costs to ensure efficient work order completion.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage shop area, warehouse, and repair costs to ensure efficient work order completion
  • Handle and respond to inbound calls for internal and external repairs/service and make corresponding reports
  • Review expense reports from mechanics and forward them to the Maintenance department for approval
  • Review open service work orders and ensure all costs have been accounted for
  • Ensure accurate and real-time statuses on all work being performed in the shop
  • Manage all work orders, including adding charges for mechanic labor hours and utilized parts
  • Conduct quality inspections of equipment to ensure adherence to government rules and regulations
  • Work closely with external vendors to arrange outside maintenance and repairs with a focus on cost control
  • Maintain company database by filing repair orders, entering invoices, and keeping records of upcoming repairs and inspections
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the Maintenance department

**Requirements:**

  • 3+ years of experience managing or administering a truck repair shop with in-depth mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management with the ability to prioritize and delegate work amongst a group
  • Computer proficiency – excellent MS Office skills, comfortable with new software and interfaces
  • Able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • Available to work on some weekends
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
