Automotive Mechanical Project Leader Position

At Bosch Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Mechanical Project Leader to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical project teams and ensuring the timely delivery of product goals and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage cross-functional engineering teams to achieve project goals during the entire project life cycle.
  2. Coordinate with SW and HW development functions on advanced Driver Assistance technologies.
  3. Main contact/interface and coordinator with customers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and deduce prioritization of increments by business value.
  4. Implementation of defined technical content to project targets.
  5. Risk management within discipline scope and support of the Project Manager.
  6. Project planning and tracking within discipline scope, cross-functional aligned between the disciplines for mechanical topics.
  7. Evaluation and planning of mechanical requirements and estimation of effort within project scope.
  8. Direct contact with OEMs on technical discussions within project scope.
  9. Support of the Project Manager in the management of mechanical issues within project scope.
  10. Preparation of releases within the project scope (e.g. Technical Releases, Quality Gates).
  11. Implementation of the technical requirements in the project according to specification, plan, defined processes and regulations within discipline.
  12. Takes design and implementation decisions to fulfill the technical requirements in the project within the defined boundaries.
  13. Accept/reject technical requirements in the customer project.
  14. Responsible for evaluating customer specifications, translating requirements into requirement evaluation, tests coverage, and support of issues tracking.
  15. Carry out project management according to Bosch APQP.
  16. Costs estimation and budget development, tracking and control.
  17. Plan and moderate FMEA's, safety reviews, samples build and installation workshops.
  18. Project meeting organization internal & external for monitoring and reporting to report project status to upper management (open topics, issues monitoring, tracking and resolving) on a frequently basis (weekly, monthly, other).
  19. Support all continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts.
  20. Supports sales and purchasing departments in acquisition phases for development efforts and technical descriptions.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science on Mechanical Engineering or related technical fields: Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Computer Systems, or equivalent.
  2. 5 years of full experience in technical project management of automotive projects (product development life cycle automotive industry experience).
  3. 5 years of experience in leading project teams.
  4. Experience with vehicle and system testing and release procedures in automotive or related industry.
  5. Ability to work with team members of other disciplines or departments.
  6. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  7. Team oriented, problem solving, strong coordination and diplomatic skills and assertiveness.
  8. Ability to promote integration and motivation of the project team.
  9. Travel required approximately 20% of the time - more or less depending on Project type and status.
