Eaton's Corporate Sector division is seeking a highly skilled Sr Buyer to join our team.

**Job Summary**:

As a Sr Buyer, you will be responsible for strategic procurement of complex materials and services to support production requirements. You will assess procurement methods, use lean tools to maximize supply chain efficiency, and promote continuous improvement activities and cost savings opportunities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

  • Responsible for strategic procurement of complex materials and services to support production requirements.
  • Assess procurement methods and use lean tools to maximize supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize inventory and costs.
  • Work with corporate resources to identify product supply sources and review and negotiate purchase prices.
  • Collaborate with supplier quality team to qualify vendors and ensure conformance to manufacturing specifications.
  • Assist facility with new product development and manage vendor relationships/quality/delivery/inventory levels.
  • Maintain continuing knowledge and understanding of company's outside supplier product demands and production scheduling techniques.
  • Devise methods and policies to ensure economical movement of materials in/out of plant.
  • Analyze and evaluate inventory and delivery problems and recommend solutions to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule.
  • Locate and select new and alternate sources of supply to meet production requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Prepare and communicate product specifications to vendors for bid and negotiate with the most favorable bidder.
  • Award and administer purchase orders and agreements in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage alliances with key suppliers.
  • Maintain and monitor computer and manual computer files related to procurement activities.
  • Support corporate commodity managers on cost reduction programs and drive cost savings projects.
  • Lead regular cycle counts for A parts and/or consignment and help manage annual physical inventory.

**Requirements**:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience within production, procurement, or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lead strategic supply chain projects, high level of analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques, general manufacturing, and ability to interpret drawings and prints.
  • Knowledge of materials planning systems, production planning, inventory control, and stockroom operations, Kanban.
  • ISO or QS knowledge.
  • 30% Travel.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

  • Five (5) years of experience within production, procurement or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS CPIM certification.
  • SAP Super User.
