As a Policy Director of Public Affairs at Nu Mexico, you will lead a team responsible for representing the company before Congress, regulators, academia, and civil society. Your key responsibilities include:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Public Policy Influence: Monitor, assess, and influence public policy matters of importance to Nu Mexico.
  • Relationship Development: Maintain and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders in Mexico, creating advocacy strategies with government stakeholders and identifying core partnerships to showcase Nu's positive impact on Mexican society.
  • Policy Program Management: Lead a team dedicated to assessing legislative proposals, drafting position papers, presentations, talking points, studies, and other materials necessary to advance the policy agenda.
  • Consumer Protection Liaison: Monitor, assess, and influence consumer protection matters while liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Nu Mexico at industry gatherings, trade associations, and coalition meetings.
  • Policy Crisis Management: Manage policy crises by liaising with Comms, Legal, Compliance, and other relevant teams and proposing clear solutions when required.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience as a policy/government affairs professional.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which Nu Mexico operates.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
  • Experience in the financial services/payments industry (banks and/or fintechs) is a must.
