Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Event Manager to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing events of average complexity, ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate event logistics and operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups, identifying operational challenges and developing alternative solutions.
  • Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process, participating in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, empowering employees to provide excellent service and setting a positive example for guest relations.
  • Lead event management teams, conducting formal pre- and post-event meetings to review and communicate group needs and feedback.
  • Support and coordinate with the sales and marketing function, assisting in the sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, with 2-3 years of experience in event management or a related field.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with at least 1 year of experience in event management or a related field.
