We're seeking a talented Android Software Engineer to join our team at Capital One. As a key member of our mobile development team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Android applications that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Android client code solutions that meet product strategy and adhere to established engineering best practices.
  • Partner with software engineers, UX/UI designers, quality engineers, and product owners to deliver high-performing, quality customer experiences.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to ensuring team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality.
  • Advocate for the mobile platform through internal and external developer communities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies related to mobile development, including Kotlin, Swift, and 3rd-party libraries.
  • Influence and contribute to group discussions, incorporating feedback and communication from the broader team.
  • Mentor junior to mid-level team members.
  • Engage with developers across various disciplines, including Android, iOS, APIs, and web development.
  • Lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
  • Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams.
  • Identify technical obstacles early and work with the team to find creative solutions.
  • Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience building Android applications.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin.
  • At least 2 years of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience building Android applications.
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with Kotlin.
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience with agile practices.
