Job Summary

Belcan Corporation is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing and Supply Chain Engineer Advisor/Consultant to work with our customers throughout Mexico. As a subcontracted advisor, you will deploy to our customers as needed to support projects related to manufacturing and supply chain engineering needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deploy and travel to customer locations as needed to provide expert advice and guidance on manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, working closely with their teams to identify and resolve complex manufacturing and supply chain issues.
  3. Troubleshoot major material process problems, evaluate scrap and out-of-flow material, and implement existing or develop new approaches to solve issues.
  4. Provide value stream mapping, lean, and kaizen expertise to improve manufacturing processes and reduce waste.
  5. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality and capacity-related issues.
  6. Develop and implement process improvements, including the creation of new work instructions and updates to existing ones.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including shop floor personnel, quality teams, customer management teams, and material teams, to ensure seamless execution of projects.
Requirements
  1. Professional degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or supply chain management.
  2. 10+ years of experience as a seasoned specialist and subject matter expert in manufacturing and supply chain.
  3. Bi-lingual candidate with fluent conversational skills in English and Spanish.
  4. Ability to operate independently and professionally represent Belcan to support multiple parties' interests.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Ability to travel as needed and deploy rapidly in short notice to begin work due to assessment, supply chain disruptions, and project improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of design for manufacturing concepts.
  2. Hands-on experience in the shop/manufacturing environment.
  3. Understanding of mechanics of materials and structural design.
  4. Knowledge of CAD modeling (2D, 3D).
  5. Proficiency in MS Office products.
  6. Experience with cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
