We have partnered with a top-rated US Product Company seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join their team. This company develops innovative management products that help businesses worldwide streamline their operations.

The ideal candidate will be based in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, or Ecuador and will be responsible for contributing to the development of large-scale software applications using Java and Kotlin.

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the enhancement and evolution of our backend applications and systems. You will work collaboratively with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and quality assurance specialists to shape our product suite within an agile framework.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing high-quality Java and Kotlin software applications that meet the company's standards.
  2. Committing code and implementing design patterns to tackle complex software challenges.
  3. Collaborating with the team to identify and implement new features, enhance codebase quality, and explore emerging technologies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  2. At least 10 years of experience in Java software development, with a strong focus on product applications.
  3. 4+ years of experience with highly scalable software systems, with a proven ability to work on systems at scale and find solutions for scaling.
  4. Working knowledge of OOP design principles and expertise in scaling data structures and object-oriented design.
  5. Knowledge of API best practices and REST service development, with experience using frameworks like Jersey or Spring.
  6. Relational Database design and development experience.
  7. Experience in both client and server-side development, with a focus on creating responsive messaging systems.
