**Job Summary**
Caliente is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining our general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures and files, reconciling account balances and bank statements. You will also be responsible for ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all assigned accounting tasks.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Gather and review monthly backup data for each Balance Sheet account, including aging, roll forward, and reconciliations.
• Maintain support files for certain Income Statement accounts, including vendor trends and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial statements on a quarterly basis, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with auditors to obtain necessary information and documentation.
• Prepare documentation for updating statutory and US GAAP books, including daily journals, balance sheets, and tax books.
• Analyze monthly P&L statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Manage internal and external Accounts Payable communications.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
• Record journal entries in our accounting ERP system, following established workflow and internal policies.
• Perform other miscellaneous tasks and special projects as assigned.
**Requirements**
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial statement preparation.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and local regulations.
• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
**Preferred Qualifications**
• Prior experience working for a Big Four company.
• Specialized experience using SAP S4 Hana.
**Skills and Abilities**
• Self-motivated with high initiative.
• Ability to manage and work with junior accountants.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with other departments and co-workers.
