About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our team at Celanese International Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll accounting, ensuring seamless data transfer between systems, and reconciling Employee Related Liability Accounts.

This role requires flexibility, productivity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with stringent production deadlines. You will work closely with our Advanced Specialist Payroll Accountant to oversee GL accounting processes for Mexico and other Latin American countries, as well as assist with daily payroll tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly payroll account reconciliation for Mexico, Brazil, US, and Canada
  • Balancing and reviewing all payroll output, investigating and correcting errors associated with auditing payroll data
  • Maintenance of accruals for all payroll-related costs (third-party payments, SS, Taxes, vacation, etc.)
  • Payroll GL account clearing
  • Reporting of employee-related cost queries
  • Document postings for invoices
  • Assistance with restructuring programs
  • Preparation of manual Journal Entry Vouchers for biweekly and monthly payrolls (bank clearings, accruals, reversals, year-end adjustments, etc.)
  • Monthly reconciliation between HR and Finance systems
  • Involvement in HR systems testing related to payroll country, legal requirements, and labor agreements
  • Assistance with certain aspects of the payroll process - auditing, gross to net controls, ensuring payroll posts
  • Assistance with payroll-related projects as needed
  • Assistance with internal audits as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years related experience in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Attainment of, or significant progress towards, the Fundamental Accounting Certification designation
  • Experience working with SAP S/4 HANA
  • Experience working with Blackline
  • Experience in Payroll Accounting
  • Experience with HR/Payroll systems preferred, SAP and ADP
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000-$90,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
