Job Title: Data Protection Analyst

Location: Monterrey or Matamoros, Mexico

Job Summary:

The Data Protection Analyst is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data throughout the organization. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data protection processes and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential data breaches and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement data protection technologies, including data loss prevention (DLP), cloud security, and encryption.
  • Work closely with business units to understand their data protection needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Monitor and analyze data protection metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in security systems administration, with 2+ years of technical hands-on data protection practitioner experience.
  • Familiarity with administering directory services, databases, role-based access, DLP, data classification, and governance solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and laws, such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), HIPAA, GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across varying levels of the organization.
