We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team at ABB. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for assigned categories or groups of categories.
Key Responsibilities- Leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing process to implement effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and ensure that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
- Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts.
- Negotiate agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renew price lists, and terms and conditions.
- Ensure identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability) in accordance with company policies.
- Direct contact with many areas of origination, marketing, engineering, and others.
- High degree of proactivity.
- Good communication skills.
- Leading cost out projects, knowledge about project development, project leadership, cost reduction.
- Experience in direct material.
- Direct negotiation with suppliers (negotiating prices, lead times, payment terms, inventories).
- Senior experience of 5 years or more - Direct negotiation with supplier.
- Advanced English skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge in SAP / Power BI / Excel intermediate.
