About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Mobile Engineer to join our team at PayPal. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing the PayPal Android Consumer App.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and build features and products that directly impact the user experience of PayPal users, the overall perception of the PayPal brand, and the company's bottom line.
- Work with other engineers, architects, product management, QA, and operations teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Develop and communicate technical processes, standards, and best practices to the team.
- Contribute to native Android app development by converting ideas, designs, and requirements into concrete, stable production builds.
- Design and oversee solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- 1+ years of Android mobile development experience.
- Strong Kotlin skills.
- Knowledge of multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
- Experience with animation, and implementing user interface designs.
- Knowledge of design patterns such as MVC and MVVM.
- Skilled at writing Unit and Automation tests.
Language Requirement
Proficient (B2: Upper-Intermediate) in both written and spoken English.
Workplace Model
Hybrid (recommended to be in-office three days a week).
