Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer Manager to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for supervising a staff responsible for developing and implementing new and improved manufacturing processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and effective production of high-quality products.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Coordinate the installation of new equipment and process changes to ensure seamless integration with existing operations.
- Ensure optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage and test equipment.
- Coordinate release dates and availability of machines and equipment and material to maintain schedules and satisfy demand.
- Establish standards and work with shop personnel to resolve problems related to manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Provide training, development, and motivation for a staff capable of completing objectives and implementing cost reduction projects.
- Supervise or manage a work unit of primarily management and salaried employees, responsible for expense budgets, capital forecasts, and expenditures, and all personnel issues in the area.
Requirements
- University degree in an appropriate manufacturing or engineering field.
- Four to five years of manufacturing experience, preferably in gear manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of planning systems, skiving, shaper, milling, and grinding gears processes.
- Black Belt certification.
- Experience in various manufacturing assignments, both staff and supervisor, is necessary to support shop operations.
