Job Overview

The Sr. Project Purchasing Specialist (Part Family) will play a crucial role in driving the company's purchasing strategy forward. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for promoting and supporting the establishment of a reliable and competitive local supply base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and Support Local Supply Base: Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure a stable and competitive supply chain.
  • Define Supplier Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement supplier strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Manage Procurement Activities: Oversee procurement activities for platform and application projects, including target cost setting and supplier selection.
  • Drive Quality, Cost, and Delivery Targets: Ensure that procurement activities meet quality, cost, and delivery targets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare Supplier Selection: Develop and implement supplier selection processes, including RFQs, supplier evaluation, and communication.
  • Interface with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with Central Purchasing, material field related purchasing, quality, engineering department, and Business Unit to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Ensure Preventive Quality Planning: Develop and implement preventive quality planning (PQP) for project-specific new parts and coordinate their release.
  • Promote and Support RPP Activities: Develop and implement activities to promote and support RPP (Returnable Packaging and Packaging) initiatives.
  • Change Management for Procured Parts: Develop and implement change management processes for procured parts to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Support Series Production and After-Market: Provide support for series production and after-market activities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in quality-related purchasing in an automotive environment, with 2+ years of commercial and technical project management experience.
  • Skills: Advanced English skills, MS Office proficiency, and analytical and structural approach.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Automotive Industry: Knowledge of plastic and rubber-injected/molded components, turned parts, and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Experience in Product Costing: Experience in product costing and cost analysis.
  • Experience in Managing SAP System: Experience in managing SAP system and procurement processes.
  • Analytical and Structural Approach: Strong analytical and structural approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to Develop Network: Ability to develop a network in a complex company culture.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills.
  • SAP Knowledge: Knowledge of SAP system and procurement processes.
  • At Least 5 Years in Automotive Industry Quality Related: At least 5 years of experience in automotive industry quality-related roles.
