This Procurement Specialist role supports the development and maintenance of strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing supplier capabilities, conducting evaluations, and performing vendor audits to ensure alignment with quality and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Procurement Management in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Assess supplier capabilities through KPI analysis and make recommendations on supplier acceptability.
- Conduct and coordinate supplier evaluations, including reports and follow-up actions.
- Perform and manage vendor audits to ensure alignment with quality and sustainability goals.
- Maintain up-to-date raw materials risk assessments and follow up with project management to implement mitigation plans defined by Category Managers.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier segmentation matrix to categorize suppliers based on risk, performance, and strategic importance.
- Address supplier quality issues along with Category Managers, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Generate periodic reports on quality issues and the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of work experience in purchasing, supplier relationship management, procurement governance, sustainable procurement, or supplier quality assurance.
- Experience in the Plastics Industry would be a plus.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in quality systems audits.
- Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing various problem-solving and quality tools.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to create 7-step sourcing strategies (Kearney method) and Should Cost Models.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, and ARIBA.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
