We're looking for a skilled Senior Software Consultant to join our team at Allstate.

This role involves implementing applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. You will own the full stack of software products, developing and implementing frontends (web or mobile), and backend services.

As a Senior Software Consultant, you will leverage test-driven development and continuous integration to ensure agility and quality of products. You'll actively participate in the decision-making process of the team ensuring that the simplest appropriate technology and design is chosen to meet user needs.

  • You will establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
  • You will practice daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building product.
  • You will provide input into the architecture and design of the product; collaborating with the team in solving problems the right way.
  • You will serve as an expert on a specific business domain and demonstrate leadership and accountability on at least one technology stack.
  • You will coach more junior team members around different technologies and XP practices.
  • You will provide support for software products in user environments.
  • You will participate in executing the strategy, keeping the customer needs and wants in mind.
  • You will participate in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product.
  • You will lead and participate in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups.
  • You will participate in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team's backlog.
