As a Backend Support Specialist, you'll play a critical role in enhancing the overall UL experience for internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will include providing backend support and fulfillment of tasks for Engineering and Customer Service departments, such as creating or revising documents, accurately entering and managing data into multiple certification databases, and resolving incoming questions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Attend and complete Foundational Training to acquire process skills and meet qualification requirements.
- Understand UL file structure, terminology, and systems needed for processing backend work.
- Utilize system software and tools to manage certification documents and correspondence while following appropriate Work Instructions/SOPs.
- Receive projects for processing/fulfilling backend work from various functions and industries, reviewing project details to ensure readiness of information to process and determining further hand-off to subsequent functions/processes as applicable at the end of project completion.
- Demonstrate ability to analyze data post-certification for discrepancies, then proactively communicate with appropriate functions/departments to resolve issues within a project, if any, in order to complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner. While processing backend work, document project status as needed. Resolve problems in an expedient, professional, and courteous manner.
- Be a change agent, support Business Transformation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements:

- 1-2 years of working experience in a similar role are welcome to apply.
- Higher Secondary Education/University degree or Diploma is required depending on the region.
- Should possess basic computer knowledge, good keyboard skills, and be well-versed with MS Word.
- English skills (region-based) - intermediate level/should possess strong communication skills, critical thinking, and interpretation skills.
- Ability to handle repetitive day-to-day tasks without sacrificing quality.
- Must work well independently and actively engage in team discussions, providing feedback when applicable.
