Chubb, the world's largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer, seeks a highly skilled Senior SQL Engineer to join its fast-paced Carrier Reporting team.

About the Role:

The Senior SQL Engineer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing fixes and enhancements in support of complex outbound reporting. This role will collaborate with the business team and other developers to produce solutions that meet the requirements of our carrier partners and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete research and problem-solving tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Develop, modify, and debug complex SSIS packages with control and data flows;
  • Prepare documentation and specifications including file layouts and data mapping;
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities to meet goals and deadlines;
  • Interface and collaborate with other tech team members, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements;
  • Combine IT skills with business knowledge to develop, enhance, debug, and maintain complex stored procedures;
  • Design and develop tables with appropriate constraints and indexes;
  • Create/update stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and other SQL Server objects;
  • Test own work and contribute to the development of test plans;
  • Maintain awareness of information security requirements and scalability issues during design and development;
  • Participate in technical design; develop from specifications under limited guidance.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A strong understanding of SQL programming;
  • At least 7 years of experience in SQL;
  • T-SQL programming skills, including stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers;
  • ETL design and development experience;
  • Development of high-quality database solutions;
  • Ability to optimize large, complicated SQL statements;
  • Capacity to troubleshoot common database issues;
  • Familiarity with tools that aid with profiling server resource usage to optimize;
  • Review and interpret ongoing business needs;
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on location and experience.
