Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Fabric Planner to join our team at Steelcase. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for analyzing fabric requirements and placing purchase orders with suppliers in North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements and place Purchase Orders with suppliers in North America
  • Plan the sequenced production and delivery of material to ensure meeting the requested delivery date
  • Communicate and update order status, including changes, cancellations, delivery deadlines, and all pertinent information regarding the order
  • Expedite orders as necessary to meet customer demand, schedule deadline, or department priorities
  • Act as primary liaison between supplier and Steelcase for material purchasing
  • Provide feedback on data integrity issues and business processes that impact or are impacted by the data delivered

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Affairs, Industrial Engineers, or a related field
  • Advanced English is a must
  • +2 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in MS Excel

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Smartsheet knowledge is desired
  • Strong ability to analyze, conceptualize, and logically organize database information with high precision and accuracy
  • Requires a working knowledge of the material purchasing function and overall manufacturing processes
  • Good analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated customer service passion and a willingness to go the extra mile
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting scheduled deadlines, and make good business decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively through email with suppliers and all levels of internal/external customers
