Job Overview

Sanmina is a leading global electronics manufacturing services provider, and we are seeking an experienced Firmware Software Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Firmware Software Engineer to work on firmware development for storage and server hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of embedded system design, C/C++ programming in an embedded Linux environment, and strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Storage/Server HW design and firmware architects to provide input on firmware design requirements.
  • Develop high-level design and low-level design documents in collaboration with firmware architects.
  • Provide sizings and scheduling on given tasks to the project team.
  • Drive the firmware development effort from design to bug resolution, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in firmware code development and review process.
  • Provide regular status updates to program management on development progress.
  • Support field application engineers in debugging and resolving problems at customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Excellent working knowledge of embedded system design.
  • Preferred experience in BIOS/BMC firmware development and AMI BIOS/BMC framework.
  • Strong knowledge of various operating systems (Linux, Windows, Unix, etc.).
  • Experience in Server/Storage system architecture.
  • Excellent scripting language and test automation skills.
  • Experience in testing BMC, BIOS, and SES firmware for storage/server applications.
  • Good system Hardware/Software integration skills.
  • Good understanding of SES, BMC, BIOS testing requirements.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues, external customers, and engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in system level problem debug, determination, and finding resolutions.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills in an embedded Linux environment.
