Job Overview

The Estimator plays a critical role in our estimating team, applying their conceptual knowledge to solve a range of estimating problems with moderate guidance. They'll be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Estimator understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review past projects, analyze cost and other aspects of estimates and proposals to provide data for management to gain confidence in estimates for new bids and decide on markups.
  • Update and maintain statistics on Benchmark indices and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Accountable for professional packaging of deliverables as internal clients are senior leaders.
  • Develop, assist in the development, and lead the development of processes, procedures, works instructions, and guidelines for the estimating function at the enterprise level.
  • Assist in the facilitation of collaboration between operating units to increase alignment across all departments.
  • Support initiatives such as software implementation, parametric data leveraging, training, risk evaluations, escalation, etc.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives at the enterprise level.
  • Attend conferences to network and stay abreast of market trends.

Essential Qualifications and Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus.

3+ years of experience in a large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company.

Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel with experience utilizing Visual Basic Analysis (VBA).

Estimating and Project Controls background.

Background in developing or managing project historical data collection and analysis systems.

Willingness to travel for short periods domestically or internationally to support the development and rollout of estimating initiatives.

Desire to make a difference in a large EPC Infrastructure organization.

Preferred Qualifications and Education

Preferable experience in estimating, project controls, and data analytics.
