POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for overseeing the internal processes of Incoming Inspection, as well as ensuring quality assurance for products delivered to our clients. This role involves the strategic planning, execution, and coordination of preventive measures, controls, and quality assurance activities aimed at fulfilling both customer and company quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the final product adheres to customer specifications.
- Coordinate the planning of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new products and processes.
- Establish and validate Incoming Inspection methodologies for components utilized in products.
- Develop and maintain control plans for production lines based on variation analysis and customer requirements, ensuring proper documentation, training, and monitoring by production personnel.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with established standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100, Control Plans, and customer certifications.
- Perform Internal Audits for NADCAP certification in specialized processes.
- Manage documentation and approval processes for product or process deviations, including obtaining necessary customer approvals.
- Generate and disseminate quality alerts for internal and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify, monitor, and resolve significant quality issues using quality tools.
- Assist the Manufacturing department in coordinating customer problem-solving activities, including the generation and documentation of 8D reports and root cause analysis.
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality System.
- Initiate actions to prevent discrepancies related to products, processes, and the Quality System, including halting production when necessary.
- Oversee the management of non-conforming or discrepant products until issues are resolved.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor based on company needs.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic, etc.)
- Proficient communication skills in English.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and preferably AS9100 (Internal Audits).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry as a Quality Engineer.
- Understanding of production processes.
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and other quality tools.
- Knowledge of variation analysis techniques and process evaluation (PFMEA and Process Control Plan).
- Proficient in Statistical Process Control.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including geometric tolerances (GDT).
- Experience in coordinating product and process validation activities and conducting Process Audits.
- Management skills for equipment used in product validation.
- Familiarity with measuring tools.
- Experience in personnel management.
