Individuals in this role typically possess a minimum of two years' experience in accounting and have likely passed the CPA or Chartered Accountant examination. As a Senior Accountant in Audit, your responsibilities will include:
  • Understanding the rationale behind the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating technical expertise to guide and mentor junior accountants.
  • Developing the skills necessary to cultivate strong client relationships.
  • Exhibiting the competencies outlined in the Firm's evaluation criteria.
  • Gaining proficiency in GAAP, OCBOA, and specialized accounting principles.
  • Mastering generally accepted auditing standards and common audit methodologies.
  • Taking charge of efficiently overseeing both audit and non-audit tasks.
  • Engaging professionally with core teams and client personnel.
Essential Functions:
  • Conducting a variety of accounting and auditing tasks under the supervision of managers.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of client engagements.
  • Preparing and organizing working papers; applying GAAP to verify the accuracy of financial information.
  • Developing a strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting frameworks.
  • Gaining a comprehensive knowledge of auditing standards and procedures.
  • Communicating effectively with engagement teams to facilitate smooth operations.
Qualifications:
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, including the requisite 150 hours of education, and eligibility to sit for the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam.
  • At least 2 years of experience in public accounting, showcasing a progression in auditing and accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
