About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Solar Turbines. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing purchase orders and contracts, lead-time reduction, and resolving chronic supplier delivery issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage purchase orders and contracts to ensure timely delivery and compliance with legal agreements.
- Lead efforts to reduce lead times and resolve chronic supplier delivery issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure payment within terms.
- Provide leadership for sourcing, logistics, and resource management decisions.
- Maintain system data and documentation to support purchasing processes and ensure compliance with SOX and ISO standards.
- Review and report supplier delivery performance.
- Participate in Six Sigma project teams and Supplier Improvement projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related professional field, preferably in technical buying in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
- Computer literacy skills in MS Office, Visio, MS Project, and BAAN.
- Knowledge of Baan and Windchill (ERP and PDM) is preferred.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification is preferred.
- Six Sigma experience or awareness is preferred.
