Electrical Design Engineer

The Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in developing innovative electrical designs for standard and special units of the Edge Thermal business unit. This individual will collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, procurement, suppliers, mechanical engineering, and product marketing teams to ensure quality, environmental, and cost objectives are met.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for computer room air conditioning and air handlers (CRAC and CRAH) products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design reviews, meet cost metrics, and brainstorm solutions to customer pain points.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
  • Develop creative solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and design changes.
  • Implement product changes to resolve field issues and support the service department.
  • Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings.
  • Design and create electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop and revise wire harnesses.
  • Work with the software team to develop and verify CRAC and CRAH system controls.
  • Support lab facilities with prototypes and testing.
  • Assist with creating, reviewing, and systems-entering new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in new product development as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process.
  • Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO 4.0 and greater.
