As a Structural Packaging Designer at International Paper, you will be responsible for creating innovative and effective package designs that meet customer needs and production feasibility. Your key accountabilities will include discussing design projects with sales representatives, formulating and communicating ideas for new and/or improved designs, and using computer-aided design software to create samples.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Discuss design projects with sales representatives and select the appropriate designs needed.
  • Formulate and communicate ideas for new and/or improved designs by analyzing customer needs and production feasibility.
  • Use computer-aided design software to create samples and process them on the cutting table.
  • Be knowledgeable of production machine capabilities to assist in the development of design specs.
  • Assist customer service to ensure proper plate and die ordering and master print card are secured on a timely basis.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate to four-year degree with emphasis on computer-aided design, CAD, and drafting, or applicable work experience.
  • Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry is preferred.
  • Competent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required.
