Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Test Engineer to join our Minerals team at Metso Corporation.
This role will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating testing activities relating to machines, spares and wears, and providing customers with technical services in conjunction with sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Testing Team Manager in executing lab test work, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and scope fulfillment.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the lab to ensure consistency and quality.
- Complete laboratory testing procedures according to established standards and guidelines.
- Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the lab, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and operation of various testing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Participate in the specification and procurement of new laboratory equipment to support the team's needs.
- Prepare, participate in writing, and reviewing laboratory data and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in proposal generation, providing technical expertise and support.
- Attend site visits to provide technical support and expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Testing Team Manager.
Requirements:
- A Mechanical trade qualification from a recognized college or technical school, or equivalent experience and training.
- At least two years of experience in the mining, aggregate, or contract crushing industries.
- Basic computer literacy in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- A valid motor vehicle license and passport.
- Ability to pass random medical and drug tests.
- Physical fitness to perform job duties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel within short notice.
- Experience with database management and MS Project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A relevant degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school.
- CSA and/or CCIL laboratory testing certifications are an asset.
- 1-5 years of experience in laboratory testing.
- Experience in the mining industry, specifically in paste and tailings, is an asset.

- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Work Environment:
This role will be based in Cananea, Son., with frequent site travel required.
