Job Description: Personal Care AssistantWe are seeking reliable, caring, and compassionate Personal Care Assistants who are interested in improving the quality of life for those we serve.
- Perform personal care activities that assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, and shaving.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Assist with patient-specific activities, such as changing ostomy appliances, reinforcing dressings, and assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises.
- Perform homemaking activities, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, and doing laundry.
- Experience as a caregiver, strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Pass a written competency evaluation with 80% or higher.
- Six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare (in homes or facilities).
- Successful completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant course.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job.
