Job Summary

The Accountant LATAM is responsible for performing independently accounting tasks within given guidelines and procedures, while maintaining accuracy and accountability of information. The position holder carries out tasks in compliance with local legislation as well as Lufthansa internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

As an Accountant LATAM, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring local accounting specifics and tax regulations (i.e. VAT, WHT and local taxes) for the assigned Latin America country
  • Submitting and ensuring payment of obligatory tax declarations, keeping local books where necessary and recovering receivable tax refunds in due time
  • Coordinating local scanning and archiving of tax declarations and fiscal information according to local fiscal rules and internal guidelines
  • Providing all relevant information for the assigned country in case of internal, external or local authority tax audits
  • Providing country-specific information to the GSDC relevant for posting and accurate accounting
  • Execution of Internal Control System instruments related to fiscal compliance
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and fiscal law
  • Fluent English language, both written and spoken
  • Strong command of MS Office as well as SAP (desirable)
  • Experience in the airline business is an advantage
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, quality, and goal orientation
  • Ability to deal with complex issues and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer and team orientation
  • High emotional intelligence
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Independent, minimum amount of supervision required

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
