Job Description

As a Control Board Design Engineer at Segula Technologies, you will be responsible for the development and verification of control boards for electric vehicle platforms. This role requires a strong systems-focused approach, with experience in interdisciplinary engineering and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to design cost-effective and reliable control boards using cutting-edge technologies and simulation tools.
  • Participate in Power Inverter Module (PIM) Control Board sourcing activities, including development of source packages, supplier technical review meetings, and engineering assessment of supplier proposals.
  • Develop power electronic controller DVP&R and verification testing to ensure achievement of functional objectives and compliance to program goals.
  • Procure components for internal development teams and execute Change Notices for design changes.
  • Interface with the extended development team to integrate the control board within the PIM and Electronic Drive Module (EDM).
  • Support creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system, and software requirements, including durability, warranty, safety, and performance at the component level.
  • Participate in supplier assessments and work with chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs meet customer requirements, are manufacturable without defect, and meet exact function.
  • Participate in post-test inspection reviews, including detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.
  • Track progress of component development, verification, and production both internally and externally.
  • Assist Issue Resolution and tracking at Technical, Program, Production, and Financial levels.
  • Assist reporting progress and status of component development at various team level meetings.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • 3+ years of experience or MS degree in electronics design and development.
  • Ability to read/interpret Circuit Schematics, Worst Case analysis, layout drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in development of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Validation Plans.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams, and all levels of personnel/management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities, one's own time while being mindful of deadlines.
  • Must be task-oriented, detail-oriented, and accurate with work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in Electrical, Computer, or equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • 5+ years of DRE experience, preferably in Power Electronics.
  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication.
  • Awareness of Power Electronics, Simulation Tools, and Motor Control Software Methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with design, release, and manufacturing of critical Inverter Systems for Automotive applications.
