We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at AMETEK, Inc. as a key member of our Supply Chain organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring electronic components, metals, fabricated parts, and assemblies to support the manufacturing of programmable power supplies in a high-mix environment.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing Activities: Perform complex purchasing activities, including pricing, volume discounts, negotiating terms and long-term contracts with suppliers, and delivery of goods/services to support build plans and forecasts.
- Inventory Management: Actively participate and drive efforts to lower inventory and drive down material costs.
- Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate best terms (price, delivery, and payment terms) with suppliers, while maintaining efficient output of purchase orders to reach highest quality at best value.
- Supplier Performance: Challenge and influence non-conforming and/or underperforming Suppliers.
- Supply Chain Strategy: Determine optimal supply chain strategy at a tactical level for all parts and establish optimal supply chain arrangement for each and every component requirement.
- MRP Output: Interpret MRP output and place purchase orders.
- Supply Chain Implementation: Implement supply chain strategy through Warehousing and Planning at the part number level of detail.
- Shortage Reporting: Respond to daily shortage report.
- Purchase Order Administration: Process supplier returns and replacements, and assist Accounts Payable in resolving related issues.
- Special Projects: Complete tasks and special projects as assigned.
