Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Planner to join our team at Corning Incorporated. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials and components to our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet Customer Expectations: Analyze customer order requirements and production capacity to acknowledge shipping dates for assigned production areas.
- Inventory Management: Develop and maintain Master Production Schedule as required by the area supervisor, monitor inventory levels and strategies to maintain optimum levels, and optimize inventory turns & efficiencies.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Interface with corporate customer service representatives (CSR's) on an ongoing basis, create and modify changes as needed on the ASI system, and communicate issues/concerns related to schedule changes caused by design problems, capacity limitations, or material shortages to appropriate levels within the organization.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain communication with internal/external suppliers to improve lead times and other issues pertaining to raw materials, ensure components are received and forwarded to the manufacturing facility receiving department accurately and in a timely manner, and ensure accuracy of lead times, safety stock levels, and other critical data are current through periodic ASI system updates.
- Production Planning: Coordinate production strategies with manufacturing to develop stock quantities to satisfy rushed customer orders, attend and participate in daily production meetings, and perform other tasks as assigned by the Planning Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Supply Chain Process Understanding: Strong understanding of supply chain processes and procedures.
- SAP/MS Office Proficiency: Proficient in SAP and MS Office.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
