What You Will Help Us CreateWe are seeking a Sr. Applied Scientist to join our team based in Guadalajara, Mexico. As a key member of our Science and Data technology team, you will work closely with other scientists, machine learning experts, engineers to design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways to improve Amazon Device Services & Software products.
About the RoleThis role is ideal for candidates with experience building machine learning models for business applications. We offer competitive compensation with an estimated salary of $145,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on your qualifications and experience.
Your responsibilities will include defining proper output business metrics, designing and developing complex mathematical, statistical, Machine Learning, GenAI models, and applying them to drive strategic and tactical needs. You will also design experiments, test hypotheses, build actionable models, prototype these models using modeling languages such as R or software languages like Python, and work with software engineering teams to drive scalable, real-time implementations.
Requirements- 5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
