We are seeking a highly skilled Solar PV Engineer to join our team at Schneider Electric - Global. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative solar PV systems that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Conduct electrical and roof assessments to identify optimal solar PV system designs. Develop and implement design packages for construction bids, including BOM, construction documents, and technical details.
- Technical Expertise: Design array layouts for rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted PV systems, stringing layout, and optimize inverter locations. Develop site plans, single-line diagrams, and three-line diagrams for permitting purposes.
- Qualification and Integration: Qualify and integrate assets into our systems, and develop capacity and performance ratio tests to demonstrate PV plant performance.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support throughout the lifecycle of our offers and projects, and contribute to the development of technical standards for PV systems.
- Investigation and Improvement: Lead the investigation of system failures and integrate feedback into design and construction standards, and follow technology advancements, code and policy changes, and safety and reliability practices that impact system design.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in solar field design, energy storage, conceptualization, applicable code requirements, and standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
- Language: Advanced English required.
- Certifications: NABCEP PV Associate or NABCEP PV Board Certifications will be a plus.
- Travel: International travel may be required; U.S. Tourist VISA is required.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Aurora Solar and/or Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD, Python, and Sketchup, Revit, or similar software.
- Knowledge: Advanced understanding of the NEC and best practices for solar construction of rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted PV systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and effectively with multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
