Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Hil Systems Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a Hil Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing Hil systems for our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Hil systems for our vehicles, including electrical architectures, electrical specifications, and embedded controllers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather engineering requirements and negotiate tradeoff analysis.
- Develop and verify plant and control models in Matlab/Simulink for execution in actual hardware test environments.
- Manage part ordering and update wiki with latest information.
- Investigate and define the correct bill of materials per project.
- Interface with test design and test environment roles to identify system boundaries and define requirements for simulator I/O, instrumentation, and automation solutions.
- Execute stim testing to guarantee dSPACE rack functionality in the HiL environment.
- Support Feature experts with environment issue detection and resolution.
- Translate functional requirements from test design engineers into hardware and signal requirements for implementation in the test environment.
- Analyze Features specifications.
- Execute testing from different features in HIL system and component testing.
- Report issues following standard procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Communication and Electronics, Microelectronics, or similar field.
- Understanding of electrical architectures of distributed systems and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of electrical specifications of embedded controllers, wiring, switches, sensors, and actuators.
- Effective communication skills, including clear and concise spoken and written communication.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize urgent situations.
- Tolerance to ambiguity and ability to deal with complex engineering problems.
- Familiarity with development and verification of plant and control models in Matlab/Simulink.
