Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting and a proven track record of success in tax planning and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and update the company's tax database to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare tax payments and estimates, and track tax returns to ensure timely submission.
- Complete quarterly and annual tax reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
- Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns, and share financial data with the accounting department to ensure compliance with tax requirements.
- Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits within tax regulations.
- Follow industry trends and track changes to ensure the company remains compliant.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Forecast tax predictions to senior managers to inform business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting or a related discipline is required.
- 4-5 years of related experience in Tax Accounting is required.
- Previous experience in Mexican taxes and tax audits is required.
- Knowledge of equipment financing (in particular transportation equipment) would be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Good time-management with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinking.
- Fluent English is a must.
