We are seeking a highly skilled Failure Mode Avoidance Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our Engineering Design Environment (FEDE) team, you will be responsible for leading the development, testing, and deployment of Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) enhancements in our systems engineering tool set.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development, testing, and deployment of FMA enhancements in FEDE, including Quality History integration to DFMEA's, FMA plan in FEDE Workbench, and SCCAF management in FEDE Workbench.
- Work closely with IT matched-pair product teams to specify needed tool functionalities, elaborate and prioritize the backlog, and work within the Agile framework for deliveries.
- Partner with Quality Office and Design Assurance teams to develop digital tool solutions for administration, execution, and measurement of FMA processes.
- Coordinate efforts between Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to provide a robust and consistent tool.
- Develop tool training documentation and other learning materials in support of deployment to Product Development functional teams.
- BS in Engineering required.
- 3+ years of experience with SAE J1739 FMA disciplines, processes, and digital tools.
- Expert-level experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM / Active Workspace.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools.
- MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable Engineering discipline.
- Experience with Ford FMA Handbook and all required deliverables aligned with Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) such as D/PFMEA's, Boundary & P-diagrams, SCCAF, Robustness Checklists, and Change Point Analysis.
- Working experience with Agile & SAFe methodologies and Rally backlog maintenance.
- Global working experience with partners in Europe, China, South America, and/or Australia.
- Strong working knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, processes, and artifacts.
