Job Description

The Manufacturing Process Specialist provides process engineering design, implementation, and commissioning services for manufacturing processes and equipment. This role involves evaluating and recommending new process technologies that optimize performance, are cost-effective, and improve product quality and manufacturing techniques.

The successful candidate will execute projects or areas of large projects, providing significant contributions to project teams and may lead multi-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review existing data to determine if further research and information gathering are required, and assess the adequacy of existing processes and equipment.
  • Design, install, and commission new production units, monitor development of modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
  • Apply principles of mass, momentum, and heat transfer to process and equipment design, conduct process development experiments, and scale in a laboratory.
  • Prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts, and support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of a plant, ensuring processes work at the optimum level to meet supply needs.
  • Make observations, take measurements directly, collect and interpret data from technical and operating staff involved.
  • Assume responsibility for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of processes and process plant, ensuring all aspects meet specified regulations.
  • Liaise with other process engineers, working on associated plants, and collaborate with specialists, including personnel responsible for quality control, plant maintenance, commercial colleagues, and operating crew.
  • Manage project costs and time constraints, providing process engineering tasks to ensure successful project execution, acting cost-effectively, and meeting performance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar with a process background.
  • +2 years of experience in manufacturing process positions in an industry environment (oil, pharmaceutical, chemistry, food).
  • Able to work within SOP's, GMP, ISO, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
  • Experience in designing and improving process flows.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite and SAP.
  • English - Intermediate advanced level (conversational).

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that the actual salary may vary based on various factors.
