Position Summary:
Bose Automotive Systems Division is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to design and develop state-of-the-art premium car audio amplifiers and systems. This position is for an engineer who will be part of a development team in Tijuana, Mexico, which designs automotive audio amplifiers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Amplifier Architecture Options: Design and develop amplifier architecture options with trade-off assessments and lead technical engagements on new product proposals.
- Evaluate Customer Specifications: Evaluate customer specifications and create responses for new audio amplifier projects.
- Design and Analyze Circuits: Develop new features and circuits to add innovative new capability, decrease cost/size/weight or increase quality/reliability. Design and analyze circuits using simulation tools to produce well-understood designs prior to building physical hardware.
- Lead Electrical Design: Lead the electrical design of new audio amplifier projects.
- Meet Cost and Quality Targets: Create designs that meet or beat target costs and ensure high-quality products.
- Follow Development Processes: Follow the development processes, which include documenting requirements and designs, following and maintaining design guidelines, holding and documenting reviews, reporting test results, and creating debug and training guides.
- Verify Designs: Verify via test that designs meet all electrical requirements and have sufficient design margin for high-quality products in harsh automotive environments.
- Meet Project Milestones: Achieve project milestones and deliverables on time and on budget.
- Lead Team Activity: Lead activity of other electrical engineers and work closely with EMC, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: At least 8 years of electrical design experience, with detailed circuit design and analysis experience of uCs, DSPs, analog amplifiers, switching and linear voltage regulators, and serial communication protocols.
- Skills: Automotive experience with audio systems experience is a plus. Schematic capture tool proficiency, PCB layout design highly desired, competency with circuit design/simulation tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, and skills with lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Audio Analyzers, Signal Generators, Programmable Power supplies.
- Language: Must be fluent in both Spanish and English, with strong capability with English language (verbal and written) to allow effective communication directly with staff at R&D, suppliers, and customers (highly technical discussions).
