As a Bison Procurement Specialist at AMETEK, you will play a crucial role in managing the production timeline for our operations, ensuring that machinery, materials, and workforce are aligned to fulfill customer demands effectively. Your responsibilities will include crafting daily and weekly production schedules while maintaining consistent communication with Sales, Material Control, and Production teams to adapt to any shifts in customer priorities, machine readiness, material supply, or staffing levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a vital communication bridge between sales forecasts and production capabilities.
- Engage in daily operational meetings to discuss the schedule and any special tasks anticipated for the day.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts by prioritizing tasks for the operations team and inform sales of any potential impacts on customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that future production requirements are transparent and accessible to the entire organization.
- Input Purchase Orders from Sales into the production timeline.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Supervisors to allocate machine and operator time effectively, utilizing available resources to meet customer deadlines.
- Schedule machine downtime for maintenance and engineering projects, including preventive maintenance and installations.
- Provide Sales with lead times for entered Purchase Orders.
- Develop and propose solutions to expedite requests, analyzing the implications of each suggestion and reporting back to your supervisor.
- Ensure all necessary documentation for production, packaging, and shipping is readily available and organized.
- Prepare and deliver reports on Purchase Order status and performance metrics.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Advanced English.
- Familiarity with MS-Office and Excel XP or later.
- APICS certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of production processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, including MPS generation, production scheduling, forecasting, demand tracking, and inventory management for JIT and SS customers.
